How do we get to net-zero?

The the latest report from UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change ( IPCC ) highlights various approaches and technologies to reduce carbon emissions today and in the future. Is this our way to net-zero?

The IPCC Working Group III report provides an updated global assessment of climate change mitigation progress and pledges, and examines the sources of global emissions. It explains developments in emission reduction and mitigation efforts, assessing the impact of national climate pledges in relation to long-term emissions goals.

In the report it shows the various options available to businesses and consumers alike to reduce carbon emissions today and in the future. Solar and wind renewable energy lead in both scalability and cost, followed by some approaches to buildings and transportation. Whilst in energy there has been much investment and cost competitive (blue), you can see that for industrial companies there is much investment is still needed (red).
