/ this is not just another assessment

Four lenses that drive investment

These indices by INCIT go straight to what to do next. They cut through noise and highlight the few priorities that will move the needle fastest.

The goal is leadership alignment on clear, timed actions, not another document that sits on a shelf.

/ agree what matters most now

Align on priorities that count

We help leadership teams agree which changes matter most, based on impact and timing.

This is not more analysis or problem‑finding.

It is a focused discussion that links operational, financial, and sustainability goals to actions that will move the needle in the time frame the business needs.

Link actions to business goals

We structure priorities around what matters most, whether that is cutting cost, improving uptime, or driving top‑line growth.

Focus on impact and timing

The discussion is anchored on what will deliver results fastest, not a wish list of improvements.

Avoid wasted effort

By agreeing what not to do now, teams avoid spreading resources too thin and can target changes with the greatest immediate benefit.

/ why this step matters

Focused priorities deliver results faster

Clear agreement on what matters most reduces wasted effort and accelerates improvements to your bottom line.

/ compare performance to competitors

Use facts to sharpen decisions

We show where the business sits against competitors in operational excellence, digital maturity, sustainability, and AI readiness.

Seeing these gaps in plain terms helps leaders understand where catching up or pulling ahead will have the biggest effect on margins, speed, or growth in the short and medium term.

Benchmark against your industry

We compare current performance to peers and market leaders, highlighting where you stand in cost, efficiency, and technology adoption.

Show the cost of delay

Gaps are linked to financial and operational consequences, making the trade‑offs clear to everyone.

Drive confident decisions

Evidence removes debate and helps teams agree where action will deliver the greatest business impact.

/ why this step matters

Evidence builds confidence to act now

Linking gaps to achieving your business goals and competitive advantage creates urgency
and removes debate over where to act first.

/ build a clear path to value

Turn the priorities into an action plan

We create a practical roadmap that delivers fast wins while laying the foundations for scaling.

The plan is built around real business goals and agreed time frames, so actions are clear, measurable, and achievable, avoiding the common trap of endless reports and no tangible progress.

Quick wins first

We sequence actions to deliver early gains that are aligned with your business goals and timeframes.

Lay foundations for scale

Early steps prepare systems and teams for broader digital or sustainability changes.

Keep it practical

Actions are specific and linked directly to financial and operational KPIs, not generic improvement statements.

/ why this step matters

A clear planaccelerates change

Focused early wins build momentum, improve margins quickly, and set up larger, longer‑term gains.

/ three most important outcomes

Early Gains, Stronger Margins, Clear Direction

Start gives leadership teams a practical, agreed roadmap to deliver faster results.

It focuses on changes that strengthen margins now while preparing for longer‑term growth.

No endless reports, just clear actions tied to real business goals. Let’s plan where to act first and why it will pay back.

IGNITEit - Benefits of SIRI Assessment

Knowing where to start your industry 4.0 journey to unlock the greatest benefits

The Smart Industry Readiness Index (SIRI) comprises a suite of frameworks and tools to help manufacturers – regardless of size and industry – start, scale and sustain their manufacturing transformation journeys. As the global measure for Industry 4.0 transformation maturity, SIRI helps to increase awareness and set targets that organizations can work towards. It also provides a structured framework for manufacturers to benchmark against their peers, identify their strengths and weaknesses to better prioritise development efforts and resources, and track their progress on their digital transformation journeys.

Over 1000 manufacturers spanning 30 different countries have completed the official SIRI Assessment and are benefiting from the improvements it has driven.

The Smart Industry Readiness Index is catalysing the transformation in manufacturing

Nick Leeder & Co is part of wider network of assessors and partners for SIRI in the UK.  Globally SIRI is led by the International Centre for Industrial Transformation (INCIT).

The approach to the SIRI assessment guides manufacturers towards to the opportunities around Industry 4.0

Transforming and upgrading a manufacturing facility is not a one-off exercise. Rather, it is a continuous and iterative process. This is encapsulated in the LEAD framework: Learn, Evaluate, Architect and Deliver – a circular, continuous four-step process that all manufacturers can adopt in their approach towards Industry 4.0 transformation.

Understanding the key components of a future-ready manufacturing facility is a critical first step in any effective transformation journey. In response, the SIRI framework draws on the Reference Architectural Model Industry 4.0 (RAMI 4.0) to provide a practical, yet comprehensive illustration of all the necessary ingredients.

The SIRI framework comprises three layers. The topmost layer identifies three fundamental building blocks of Industry 4.0: Technology, Process, and Organisation. All three building blocks must be considered to harness the full potential of Industry 4.0. Underpinning the building blocks are eight pillars, which represent critical aspects that companies must focus on to become future-ready organisations. The third and final layer comprises sixteen dimensions that companies should reference when evaluating the current maturity levels of their facilities.

Prioritisation is the next critical exercise in formulating effective Industry 4.0 roadmaps, as it helps companies identify business areas where improvements will generate the most value. Despite the importance of prioritisation, limited guidance was available to help companies conduct a robust and comprehensive prioritisation exercise.

We address this gap with the TIER framework, which outlines four principles for companies to consider as part of a holistic prioritisation exercise. By evaluating these four principles, manufacturers can better focus their energies and resources on activities that bring the greatest benefits.

  • TODAY’S STATE – Develop in-depth understanding of the company’s current Industry 4.0 maturity level.
  • IMPACT TO THE BOTTOM LINE – Analyse how distinct Industry 4.0 areas affect the company’s profits and identify those that can generate the greatest financial returns.
  • ESSENTIAL BUSINESS OBJECTIVES – Determine the business objectives that are the most critical to the company to guide the selection of relevant Industry 4.0 needs.
  • REFERENCES TO THE BROADER COMMUNITY – Emulate the success and learn from the mistakes of the broader manufacturing community.

Learning the key concepts is an essential first step in any transformation journey, but that alone is not enough. Companies must next evaluate the current state of their manufacturing facilities, before they can identify areas of improvement. Companies can conduct this comprehensive evaluation of their facilities through the SIRI Assessment. This includes the Assessment Matrix to establish their standing across 16 key dimensions and the Prioritisation Matrix to identify high-impact dimensions for further action.

Through the Official SIRI Assessments (OSA), the World Economic Forum (WEF) Global SIRI Initiative has started building the world’s largest datasets and benchmarks on the current state of manufacturing.

By democratizing this knowledge, we aim to fundamentally reform the manufacturing community’s approach to industrial transformation, from one that is ad-hoc and anecdote-based to one that relies on a standardized methodology supported by data. The 2022 edition of the insights report draws on data from manufacturers across 30 countries to provide:

1. New insights on the current state of industrial transformation across multiple manufacturing sectors,

2. Real-world case studies on how different manufacturing stakeholders are leveraging the SIRI programme to accelerate their digital transformation journeys.
